About Derbyshire Joinery Specialists

Meet Liam Taylor

Liam Taylor has worked in property for more than ten years. He started with his own flooring company and a property development business, renovating properties for himself as well as for clients, from replacing a single floor to taking on a whole house.

That work kept showing him the same problem. A project that needs a joiner, an electrician, a plumber and a tiler usually means four separate trades, four sets of dates and, when something goes wrong, four people pointing at each other. Liam formed Derbyshire Specialists Group to fix that, bringing the trades a project needs under one company with one point of contact.

Derbyshire Joinery Specialists is the group’s joinery and carpentry arm. It is where the kitchens, wardrobes, staircases, media walls, doors and gates are made and fitted, with the other trades in the group on hand when a job needs them.

What we do

We make and fit the joinery that changes how a home looks and works. Each service has its own page with our work, typical prices and common questions.

• Kitchen fitting Supply and fit, or fit-only for a kitchen you have bought yourself.
• Fitted wardrobes Made-to-measure wardrobes, fitted bedrooms and built-in storage.
• Staircases New staircases, banisters and oak and glass renovations.
• Media walls and stud walls Media walls, media units, partitions and acoustic walls.
• Doors, architraves and skirting Internal and fire doors supplied and fitted, with the trim to match.
• Wooden gates Garden, side and driveway gates, made to measure, with new posts.

One team instead of several trades

Most joiners work alone, which is fine until your kitchen also needs a plumber, an electrician and a tiler, and you are the one chasing them. Our joiners work alongside partner electricians, plumbers, tilers, plasterers and floor layers from Derbyshire Specialists Group, so when a job needs several trades, we co-ordinate them and they appear on one quote.

It also means there is one team responsible for the finished job. If something is not right, it is ours to put right, rather than a question of which contractor caused it.

How we work

• Advice in plain English

Liam set the business up on the principle that a good tradesperson should be able to explain what they are doing and why, without hiding behind jargon.

• A free written quote

We come to you, take proper measurements and send a clear written quote before any work starts. There is no charge for the visit.

• Fit-only if you prefer

Bought your kitchen, doors or wardrobes already? We will fit them for you.
